  1. in england, it much consist of rolling hills. But in the south it is more flat. They also have islands that are surrounded by water. This relates to what they eat because where it is flat they can grow crops and raise cattle, and the islands that are surrounded are more likely to eat fish and other things from the oceans.

  2. For the 2nd question, England's geography does have an impact on what people eat. For example, Englishmen eat a lot of dough type foods because of the abundence of grain. Another are potatoe staples because Ireland is right next to England, and the English also recieve cockles(mussles) which come from the coast of Wales.

1-Apart from cakes on birthdays, few special foods are eaten at major secular ceremonies, although such ceremonies involve toasting and drinking alcohol. On Shrove Tuesday, which is both a secular and a religious occasion, many people eat pancakes.

  8. To make shepherd's pie you need ground round beef, one onion chopped, chopped carrots, corn, peas, potatoes, butter, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, other seasonings of choice.

Peel and chop the potatoes, then boil them in salted water until it's tender.

While the potatoes are cooking, melt half butter in large frying pan.

Saute onions in the butter until it's tender over medium heat. Add the vegetables.

Add the ground beef and saute it until it's no longer pink. Add in the salt and pepper. Add the worcesterchire sauce. Add half a cup of beef broth and cook, uncovered, over low heat for 10 minutes, adding more beef broth as necessary to keep moist.

Put the mash potatoes in a bowl with remainder of butter. Add any other seasonings.

Place the beef and onions in baking dish. Distribute the mashed potatoes on top. Rough it up with a fork so that there are peaks that will brown nicely.

Cook in a 400 degree oven until it's bubbling and brown.

  10. A traditional English food i found was Beef & Yorkshire Pudding. To make Yorskire pudding, you need flour, eggs, and milk. It is also moistened with gravy. You eat it with gravy and veggies and any unused pudding will be eaten w/ jelly or ice-cream. You usually eat this sundays during brunch;)

  18. 2. Discuss England's geography and how it relates to what they eat.

England has a temperate climate, with plentiful rainfall all year round, although the seasons are quite variable in temperature. However, temperatures rarely fall below 23 °F or rise above 86 °F . The prevailing wind is from the south-west, bringing mild and wet weather to England regularly from the Atlantic Ocean. It is driest in the east and warmest in the south, which is closest to the European mainland.
